The Small Business tips today will be about where to find people to interview.

  1. First ask family & friends for referrals. They can be honest & up front about what they do & don't know about a recommendation.
  2. Hold an in-house job fair. Invite schools, county or state job developers and others in the community to attend.
  3. Search the Internet. Post your openings on free and fee-based bulletin boards such as CareerBuilder or CraigsList.
  4. Contact local government job banks for free referrals. All states have welfare-reform goals and may be a source of employees.

Daily Overview: People don't go door-to-door anymore asking for jobs. Ask for personal referrals 1st then utilize outside agencies.

I post small business tips on my Twitter account each day, Monday through Friday. This is a reposting of those tips.
