Tips from July 13, 2009

The Small Business tips today discuss how small businesses can use Google Analytics to track web traffic and marketing effectiveness.

  1. Install: create a Google Analytics account, configure your profile, edit the tracking code, & add to your webpage.
  2. Visitors: see anything & everything you’ve ever wanted to know about visitors to your site: location, clicks, bounce, & origin.
  3. Traffic: see where your visitors are coming from: search engines, links, social networking sites, or a direct link.
  4. Content: check what brings people to your site & brings in revenue: information, tips, guidance, or keywords.

Daily Overview: Google Analytics help you to evaluate your online marketing efforts in site and off site. You can determine what works and what doesn't. Youl'll find where adjustment is needed.

We post these small business tips to our employee's Twitter account each day, Monday through Friday. This is a reposting of those tips.
