Tips from Tuesday, December 16, 2008

The Small Business tips today will be about low cost marketing strategies.

  1. Give yourself a fun/ different title. Put it on business cards. You'll be memorable & easier to find when services are needed.
  2. Have a website, also write targeted articles for journals, newspapers & blogs. This gets your name out there & shows value.
  3. Organize and/or host a charity event. You'll get to know tons of people and it will showcase your leadership skills.
  4. Word of mouth marketing trumps everything. ASK friends, family and all contacts for recommendations or referrals.

Daily Overview: Be different. Organize an event. Write articles. Word of Mouth for the win! Ask for recommendations.

Powerful advertisements do matter. It is a way to introduce the product among the customers and cite the product/service benefits. It would not make sense to increase your sales if the public would not know it. Eventually the target market will increase and people will keep on patronizing once they are well satisfied with the product or services. One of the widely use tool in advertising is the use of Facebook. More people are joining the social networking site, and it's also a great place to advertise for a business – it's free advertising space, and social networks have become a marketing hotbed over the last few years. There are precious few opportunities for a business to have access to so many potential customers, which can be a great way to build customer rapport, as long as you aren't spamming anyone – customers hate that. And since the website is free to sign up for, a business can start advertising on Facebook without needing payday loans to start an ad campaign.
