Lennie,
Thanks for checking in and also for the compliment!

If we can't learn from our mistakes, then why do we try?

This is a very good starting point. Thanks, Kim. I would only add implementing a search engine-friendly blog, hosted separately or built into the company website. We use Compendium Blogware (www.compendiumblogware.com) and have seen some great results.

Kim,

I think your second point raises a particularly interesting point about how organizations can harness the power of the internet as a medium for business intelligence with respect to customer perceptions about the quality of their products and services.

To be sure, the internet is a great place for competitors or disgruntled employees or customers to spread malicious lies, but via the use of the type of monitoring activity which you refer to, the internet provides a great opportunity for organizations to find out what their key stakeholders, particularly customers, are really saying about them.

Andrew,
That's exactly right! If we choose not to listen and react to what our customers, employees and competitors are saying, then we're failing to meet their needs.

It's not just about the sale, it's about communication!
