Tips from September 9, 2009

The Small Business tips today discuss working from home: Scheduling

  1. Enforce normal business hours while working at home. Stick to the schedule the business needs to operate; not your personal one.
  2. Keep track of time & manage it better by setting deadlines. Make sure to get your work done before tending to other obligations.
  3. It's easy to get lost in your personal life at home, so keep a work calendar visible to remind you constantly of work & deadlines.
  4. Establish a routine, especially if you have personal commitments. Get a schedule: work first, then adhere to personal obligations.

Daily Overview: Pretend you're still "in the office." Set a schedule & start a routine to keep your work on track.
