The Mount Prospect Chamber Board of Directors recently passed a resolution opposing this “Card Check” bill because it would have a devastating effect on small business. In this economy we need to support business and allow them to create jobs, not stifle their growth with efforts like this.

Late last week, the Mount Prospect Chamber and chambers of commerce across the country discovered that CertifiChecks, Inc. the company which administers gift certificate programs for chambers and other organizations, has ceased operations.
The Mount Prospect Chamber of Commerce is the independent association of area businesses devoted to promoting free enterprise, as well as fostering the growth and development of the community.
Should internet sellers and catalog sellers have to collect sales tax the same way our local Illinois businesses do?

Mount Prospect Chamber Gift Certificates, similar to a ‘mall gift certificate,’ will be accepted at many Mount Prospect area businesses throughout the region including retail shops, restaurants, grocery stores, and service businesses.
At a recent meeting, the Board of Directors chose to oppose the Employee Free Choice Act (EFCA), legislation that would curtail the rights of both employees and employers and would hamper economic recovery and growth.

The Mount Prospect Chamber of Commerce will be hosting a Business Workshop Series starting in January. There are six Jump Start events from January to June. "Demographics" will be held on January 21. All workshops will be held at the Mount Prospect Public Library beginning at 8:30 am.
