The Mount Prospect Chamber of Commerce and Northwest Community Hospital will host the first 5K Walk/Run Corporate Challenge in Kensington Business Park at 1401 Feehanville Dr. on August 6. This event, which is expected to draw about 500 runners, seeks to boost business morale as well as build teamwork and promote each company’s products and services. The Business Expo will begin at 4 p.m., followed by registration at 4:30 p.m. and the race at 6 p.m. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Northwest Suburban United Way, an organization that improves the lives of those in need by mobilizing the caring and financial power of communities.

Businesses are invited to become a part of this event through participation in teams of five (minimum 3) to win a traveling trophy or sponsorship. As event co-sponsor, Northwest Community Hospital donated $5,000 for start-up of the event and for its name and logo to appear on the race T-shirt. The name and logo will also appear on the Chamber Web site to promote the race. Although the previous sponsorship is no longer available, a business may still become an Entertainment Sponsor with a donation of $500 and have its name included on the band stage and its corporate name and logo on all brochures and promotional material for the race, including a T-shirt and the Web site. A donation of $250 will earn businesses an Expo Table and tent with table cover as well as a corporate logo on the T-shirt. A $150 sponsorship will provide businesses with an Expo Table in the tent with a table cover. A $50 sponsorship will give business an opportunity to donate promotional material in a bag given to every participant.

Charges may be faxed to the Mount Prospect Chamber of Commerce at (847) 398-6780. Those who register to participate before July 26th will receive a goody bag and logo shirt.
